Alpha Renewal

It’s hard to get motivated. There are parties and outings and beer to be drank. July has kind of slipped away. I didn’t’ drop that extra 15 I wanted. But I haven’t gone up much. Just a couple of pounds.

Working out has slowed down. I was having trouble getting to the gym with all the summer activities and then I went to Boy Scout camp for a week. Actually I got plenty of exercise at camp, took the BSA Lifeguard certification. Lots of swimming. But have had trouble getting back into a good exercise routine since I’ve been back. It appears that my workout partner has thrown in the towel permanently. He has more excuses than me.

So last week I went out to that BSA Seabase site to remind myself how much I have to loose in the next 12 months. They have a height/weight chart for maximum weight for the Bahamas Trip I’m signed up for next July. Oy! I’ve got a long way to go. Wonder if I’ll make it?
So I went to the gym once last week. Took an hour bike ride another day. Yesterday I helped the T-Man mow TMF’s lawn in the heat. Probably mow my own in the heat tonight. Knock off the excess drinking for now (especially beer, I'll miss the Firecracker Red, but it will keep). Get my eating back in order and see if I can drop some more weight. Go back to the gym, anyone know of someone looking for a strength training partner? Start walking at lunch again.

I need to set some weight loss goals. 10-8-ious uses the count something method to motivate herself. I use the goal method. 20 pounds in 5 weeks, before Labor Day. Four pounds a week.
Maybe we should have a weekly evening bike ride? We could meet someplace and go for an hour ride or so? Or just walking?

yeah-- I fell off the gym wagon too a bit between the holiday weekend and then a week on vacation (and, let me see I must another excuse or two!) It's really hard in the summer - so much going on! But I'm back at it. I go in the mornings - gets it over with, no crowd and I get to feel good about myself all day!

I'd be into a walking group again. My bike is at T's since I never seemed to use it here I decided to keep it at his house. So let me know when you want to walk -- of course it's too hot now! ;-)

Good goals Microe! I have a goal too - it's a skirt I wore many years ago - it's now hanging on my wall to remind me that I would really enjoy wearing it agin, if I could fit into it!

One the other hand... summer is full of really good fruit and veggies- try to worship blueberries and tomatoes for a while! (Not saying it will replace beer, of course.
