Back in the Alpha Saddle
Ok, so it took a week or so to get back with the program. But I think I have done it. 4 pounds this week. Crack that whip, spur that horse! Got the breakfast lunch thing under control. Breakfasts right now are yogurt and fruit. Bought 5 lbs of Michigan Blueberries. Been taken them as snacks. Working pretty good!
Had a business lunch yesterday, turned down Chinese went Mexican instead. Easier to eat light and low fat with Mexican. I had a salad, and it filled me up, so I ate a light late dinner.
Exercise, well I've been to the gym a couple of times but not a lot. Been riding my bike. Got a 15 mile ride with the Scouts tonight. Probably take a bike to South Haven this weekend.
Speaking of weekends, moderation, moderation, moderation..... Might go beerless this weekend. Would really like to get down some before Labor Day and sucking a hundred beers at the boat won't get me there. Stay tuned.

4 pounds is fabulous! I always try to take a long view when I am at the begining- so today, 2 or 3 pounds feels like the tip of the iceburg but if I could loose 1 or 2 pounds a week, by (insert some random date here) I'd be thrilled. In the mean time, I'm just enjoying all this great local produce, (peaches are awesome right now), couldn't care less about a brownie, wouldn't kill for half a bottle of Cab... hiking, hiking...

that's almost too much -- having a boat in Lake MI and not drinking beer?! Now THAT is dedication (and sacrafice!). You're doing great Microe -- I like that you set a very long term goal for your self -- it was a big goal but you have a year to get there. The advantage there is that if you stick with this for a year, by then it will be your routine! very smart!
I was having trouble getting to the gym as often as I needed to to not feel guilty,so I am suplementing it with evening & weekend walks or bike rides -- that seems to be working well for the cardio. As far as weights - I decided all my cardio stuff is working my legs, so I only do my arms on weights for now.
I'm not losing, but I am being good about my diet and exercise. I'm not discouraged yet -- I know I'm doin' all the right stuff.
